For this 2011 edition, the City of Carcassonne offers you an even more surprising kind of Christmas magic, to delight children and share treasured moments with your family as the festive season draws near. A bigger ice rink, with 1,000m2 of ice, a genuine Christmas market including craftsmen in both the Medieval City and the city centre, children’s shows, a gigantic, 22 m high Christmas tree lit up on Gambetta square, but also sensational attractions, winter sports, a Ferris wheel, carrousels, a live farm, the traditional torchlight procession, a train journey to meet Santa Claus... and many more surprises
This month of festivities is organised into themes: a medieval week-end in the heart of the Medieval City to celebrate Saint Nicholas (3 and 4 December), a week of children’s shows in the city centre (from 5 to 11 December), a local gastronomy week-end with a foie gras market and a country getaway week-end (17 and 18 December) as well as a major Christmas show on 24 December on Gambetta square.
Every day, let yourself be guided by the illuminations and enjoy the attractions and fairy-tale settings of this Christmas Magic.
