Description : This is the house where the poet Joë Bousquet lived as an invalid and invited all the major creators of the first half of the 20th century. A succession of painters, poets and scholars visited him in his room that still looks today as it did in his time. Permanent exhibition of the works of Joë Bousquet Temporary exhibition relating to the cultural heritage of the département or the works of various audois artists. Note : this building houses the offices of the René Nelli Centre for Cathar Studies and the Groupe Audois de Recherche et d'Animations Ethnographiques.

Museum of Coat of Arms – Stained Glass
Description : The heraldry of English origines & sigillography exhibition (didactic wall, medieval seals and grants of arms ... ) is presented along with the evocation of the Crusade against the Cathars and enhanced by windows to show reproductions of historical seals. Additional space has a special focus on shields of the Knights of the Golden Fleece and the paintings on glass (interior stained glasses) in the flamboyant style of the fifteenth century Heraldry as weIl as religious scenes. Work shops, activities for youths are available for creation of coats of arms, seals ... Guided visits every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm

Medieval City
Description : The mediaeval walled town lies on the right bank of the River Aude and is featured on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. It has 52 towers and 2 rings of town walls making a total of 3 km of battlements. There is no restriction on access to this area of Carcassonne. It is still home today to its population of approximately 120 and it boasts a large number of shops and craftsmen.

Description : Built in the 17th century as a refuge of final defence, this was the residence of the Trencavel, the viscounts of Carcassonne. Guided tours, conference tours, educational activities (for young visitors). Audio guides. Access to the ramparts. Lapidary museum. Film on large screen.

Sightseeing tour by train
Description : Take the little train for a sightseeing tour of the Medieval City's turrets and ramparts (Duration 20 min. Multi-language explanations). Departures from the Narbonnaise Gate.

Tour in a horse-drawn carriage
Description : Guided tour of Carcassonne in a horse-drawn carriage. Discover buildings from all eras thanks to a comprehensive, 20-minute commentary. Route takes you between the two ramparts on the fortified walls, departing from Porte Narbonnaise.

Forest Acrobatic Park
Description : Seven courses of varying difficulty with more than 80 workshops, including two Tyrolean traverses above the Lake.
Open every day from 1pm to 6pm during June, July and August. Otherwise open on Wednesdays, weekends, public holidays and school holidays from 1pm to 6pm between March and November. Winter opening by arrangement only.
